The AGM & Youth Achievements Evening for this Scout Group, followed by Bingo and Raffle, was held at St Paul’s Parish Club on Friday, 15th June.
The evening commenced with the Colour Party. Representatives from each group presented their flag to Assistant District Commissioner John Dean. Then Group Scout Leader, Richard Robinson, reported:
“This has been another great year for our group with many activities being put on across all three sections. Our leaders deliver a wide ranging, diverse and exciting programme helping all our young people make new friends, gain confidence and develop skills for life and thank you to all our leaders and helpers for this!”
The 2018 AGM followed with reports and slide shows from each group highlighting the many activities and celebrations that have taken place in the last 12 months. Many aspects of a Scout Member's journey were covered.
- Starting with the Beaver Group where new boys were Invested
- Moving onto boys from the Cubs Group who have recently moved up from the Beavers
- Lastly, 3 boys from the Scout Group receiving their Gold Award from Assistant District Commissioner, John Dean
There were individual awards presented on the night. In addition many Beavers, Cubs and Scouts received Badges for successful Challenges this year.
The presentations were followed by a Bingo fundraiser. All profits/donations received on the night to help towards the forthcoming International Scout Group Backpacking Trip from Brussels to Vienna
