Socials and Fund Raising

Some people have the knack of being able to organise parties, raise money for worthy causes, put people at ease in large gatherings and enjoy being sociable. If you are one of these, then there is no need to tell you that the parish would welcome your talents! If you wish to volunteer for any of the following , please fill in the Volunteering form. On the form, you need to tick the relevant jobs in the list and fill in your details. You can specify on the form exactly what sort of help you can provide.

Organising socials in Parish club

Some of these are just socials to help parishioners to get to know one another or to celebrate some major event in the parish. Others are socials but have an element of fund raising in  them. For example, a Prize Bingo night was held to raise funds to help some young people to go Lourdes to assist sick pilgrims. We need people willing to make suggestions beforehand and to help on these nights at the club  

Organising Local trips

These are to help parishioners to help one another to grow in their spiritual life by going as a group to a local retreat house or to a place of pilgrimage. The day is usually organised to have talks, quiet times, times of discussion, and services as well as times for refreshments. 

These are usually very popular and we need people to make suggestions beforehand, to prepare talks and to help on the day.

Organising trips further afield

In the past, groups of parishioners have been to Rome and to Lourdes.   There was also a 3 day trip to the Durham area, where they visited Holy Island and Alnwick.

The longer trips obviously need more organising! Volunteers welcome.........
